Management Team
The IBL management team consists of the Director of the Institute, the Deputy Director, the Director of Education, the Coordinator MSc Molecular Biosciences, the Institute Manager and the Management Assistant.

Educational Board
The IBL Educational Board consists of the Director of education, the Scientific directors of both Evolutionary and Molecular Biosciences, the secretaries of the IBL-bachelor and IBL-master programmes, and the Educational Officer of the Faculty of Science.

Board of Examiners
The Board of Examiners consists of scientific staff members of the IBL, NHN, and CML, who teach in the biology programmes. They are appointed by the Board of the Faculty of Science and act independently from the research institutes.

Institute Council
The Institute Council (Instituuts Raad (IR)) gathers monthly to discuss institute matters which can be important to all scientific and supporting staff as well as to all IBL-students. The meetings are each last Monday of the month and they are open to all.

Advisory Board
The Advisory Board of the IBL consists of four eminent scientists with specialist expertise in complementary disciplines. They all have prominent positions for the field of Biology in the Netherlands outside our own institute.

Scientific Meetings Commitee
This committee is responsible for organising our yearly IBL-symposium and the monthly In the Spotlight, Biology Seminars Leiden.

Public Relations Commitee
The PR-Committee aims at developing an optimal image of the IBL among future and current students, teachers of biology at high schools, academics outside and within the institute, journalists, interested laymen, Bioscience industrial parties, and Leiden citizens.
