- Tenure track at Leiden University’s Faculty of Science
A top talent program
Young and talented scientists with the ambition to grow into the role of a full professor are invited to join Leiden University’s Faculty of Science in a tenure track position. We offer a clear, transparent and inviting career track to those who have shown their talent and scientific potential. A tenure track is suitable to energetic and passionate scientists, par excellence. We seek ‘out-of-the-box’ thinkers with a clear view on a challenging research program.
The Faculty of Science has a lot to offer. Our research groups have an excellent reputation. They offer possibilities for (international) cooperation and synergy, scientific innovation and state of the art research facilities. We focus on talent by investing in both your professional and personal development.Tenure Track in a nutshell
It is our policy to reward outstanding performance. During a tenure track you are challenged to surpass your own expectations. You develop your own research program, successfully raise research funds, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. You also contribute to management and organization. If you are successful in meeting our criteria during the track, your career path will be as follows. We start off with a temporary appointment for a period of six years maximum, expected to lead to a promotion to a tenured position as associate professor. A promotion to a position as full professor can be expected within the subsequent three to five years.
